You make this application if you or any of your dependants were granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK and wish to transfer your Indefinite Leave status from your passport to a Biometric Residence Permit card. If you are applying under this category you must have Indefinite Leave to Remain. You will need to submit your passport to prove you have Indefinite Leave to Remain when making this application.

You can make this application if you or any of your dependants were granted limited leave to remain in the UK and wish to change the details contained on your Biometric Residence Permit. For example, if you have changed your name or your name is spelt incorrectly on your Biometric Residence Permit. You may also use this application if you have changed your nationality or gender or if your date of birth has been stated incorrectly. You will need to provide evidence to support the change of details, such as a marriage certificate or change of name deed poll or original passport or birth certificate showing your correct details.
