Family Visa Applications
Family visa applications are made outside of the UK. Applications under this category are:
• Partner Spouse/Civil partner
• Fiancé/Fiancée Dependent child
• Dependent relative Parents or Relatives.
Entry Clearance application – UK Spouse and Civil Partner Visa (applying with dependent child/children)
You can make this application if would like to make an application for Entry Clearance into the UK as the spouse or civil partner of someone present and settled in the UK and you now wish to reside with them in the UK on a permanent basis. Your spouse or civil partner will need to meet certain requirements for your application to be successful. In particular they will need to meet the financial requirement unless they are exempt. They will need to be earning an income of at least £18,600 and an additional £3,800 for the first child and then an additional £2,400 for each additional child in order to meet the Immigration Rules. However your spouse or civil partner may be able to rely on third party support if they can prove they have a credible guarantee of sustainable financial support from a family member or friend. If your spouse or civil partner is not currently employed you may still be able to meet the rules if either you or your partner have a confirmed job offer and can prove that there will be credible prospective earnings from the sustainable employment or self employment. Alternatively your spouse or civil partner can rely on cash savings if they have a sustainable amount.

Fiancé Visa (out of country application)
You can make this application if you want to come to the UK to marry a British Citizen. You visa is valid for 6 months and therefore you are able to marry during that period. If you wish to remain in the UK after the initial 6 month period you will then be able to apply for Leave to remain as a the spouse of a British Citizen. Your fiancé will need to meet certain requirements for your application to be successful. In particular they will need to meet the financial requirement unless they are exempt. They will need to be earning an income of at least £18,600 in order to meet the Immigration Rules. However your fiancé may be able to rely on third party support if they can prove they have a credible guarantee of sustainable financial support from a family member or friend. If your fiancé is not currently employed you may still be able to meet the rules if either you or your partner have a confirmed job offer and can prove that there will be credible prospective earnings from the sustainable employment or self-employment. Alternatively your fiancé can rely on cash savings if they have a sustainable amount.
